Wolf!
1. The Fox and the Grapes
Once upon a time, a fox was walking through a vineyard. He saw some juicy grapes hanging from a high branch. The fox jumped and tried to reach them, but he couldn't. With a disappointed look, the fox walked away, saying, "I'm sure those grapes were sour anyway."
Moral: It's easy to despise what you cannot have.
2. The Boy Who Cried Wolf
There was a young shepherd boy who used to watch over a flock of sheep. One day, he thought it would be fun to play a prank on the villagers. He shouted, "Wolf! Wolf!" The villagers rushed to his aid, only to find out it was a false alarm. The boy laughed. The next day, the boy played the same prank again, and once more, it was a false alarm. However, when a wolf actually came, the boy cried out for help, but the villagers didn't believe him anymore. As a result, the wolf attacked the sheep.
Moral: Be honest and trustworthy, as lying will cause people to doubt you when you truly need help.
3. The Tortoise and the Hare
In a forest, a slow-moving tortoise and a quick rabbit once decided to have a race. The hare was confident in his speed and became overconfident, taking a nap before reaching the finish line. Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving steadily. When the hare woke up, he sprinted as fast as he could, but despite his efforts, the tortoise had already crossed the finish line.
Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.
4. The Ant and the Grasshopper
In the summertime, while the ants were working hard to store food for the winter, a lazy grasshopper was busy enjoying the warm weather. When winter arrived, the ants had enough food to survive, while the grasshopper was left hungry and cold.
Moral: It is wise to save and prepare for the future, rather than being lazy and enjoying the present without considering the consequences.
5. The Lion and the Mouse
A mighty lion once caught a small mouse in his paws. The mouse begged the lion to spare its life. Touched by the tiny creature's plea, the lion let the mouse go. Later, the lion found himself trapped in a hunter's net. The mouse, remembering the lion's mercy, came to the rescue and gnawed through the net to set the lion free.
Moral: Kindness is never wasted, as one good deed deserves another.
